You can’t be buried in a Jewish cemetery with that thing

We’re working on a project for a laser tattoo removal clinic, which is awesome. First thing we did was troll the web for the worst tattoos we could find. And holy shit, some of the ink out there is absolutely brilliant in its horribleness.
After seeing all this stuff, we decided to design their site around all the lame tattoos out there that really should be removed.
We built in a gallery and the Tattoo of the Week promotion. If your tattoo is featured, they’ll remove it free so the rest of the world doesn’t have to look at it.
The gallery is like a shrine honoring the stupidity of humans. (We actually put the tattoos of a few of our friends up there as a little hint.) Of course the gallery links to a bunch of social networks to encourage passing and promotion. Anyway, check it out and enjoy.
European Tour 2010

We have the pleasure of shooting our new iShares campaign with the fabulous Doug Pray, Director of films like Art and Copy, Surfwise and Hype!. The guy is amazing to work with and just plain nice, too. Along with producer Peter Murray and a small crew out of Oil Factory, we’re shooting in Los Angeles, England, Norway, China and two other as yet undetermined locations. The project is via McCannSF and it’s a client we pitched, won and are now producing a new campaign for.

Just three of the amazing people/drawings we got to shoot for LA Marathon spots. So many LA celebs gave their time to tell us about their favorite mile and we really appreciate it. The campaign is going well, the race is on schedule to sell out for the first time ever and there’s still no way in hell we’re gonna run it. Maybe next year.
G-D Bless the Marathon. Sort of.

Shooting at our lady of the angels church, which is Mile 3 of the LA Marathon. The day before the race, they do a special ceremony for runners called The Blessing of the Shoes. Seriously. We’re filming Deacon Manny Martinez in this gorgeous church as he blesses running shoe. Truth is stranger than fiction, indeed.

We’re shooting the ex USC Coach for an LA Marathon web film and TV spot. The idea is that a bunch of celebs tell us their favorite LA Marathon mile. He’s talking about how his favorite mile is the one that goes through Westwood because USC loves kicking butt in Westwood. Sorry UCLA fans. Pete also has a beautiful cottage on the beach in Hermosa and was incredibly friendly through the whole shoot. Thanks, Pete. Good luck in Seattle.
DoL shoots 3OH!3
Dec 8, 2009
OK, admittedly, we didn’t know who 3OH!3 was either. Not our kind of music, but definitely our kind of people. Really great guys. The manager of the band uses Office for pretty much everything he does for the bands he manages and we filmed his story for Microsoft. We also went to a radio promo bash and partied with ex MTV VJ, Kennedy. See if you can spot her in the film.
World’s biggest company hires world’s smallest company

Microsoft has asked us to shoot 10 films to help launch Office 2010. We’ll travel the country collecting and filming stories to showcase all the ways people use the world’s most popular software. It’s a fantastic project and we’re thrilled. Stay tuned for pictures and commentary from the road.
Why we’re not running a marathon this year.
Oct 14, 2009
Our excuse for not running the LA Marathon this year is that we’re too busy promoting the LA Marathon this year. Our clients in LA have asked us to continue working with them through race day. We’ll be doing everything from shooting online films and TV spots to designing course signage and Tee Shirts with shoe sponsor K Swiss. Crazy excited. Thanks Peter Abraham. Stay tuned for new work.
No money? No time? Perfect assignment!

We got a call from the LA Marathon. They want to shoot a video announcing the new race route from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica Pier. Sounds great. Only problem, it’s Thursday and they need to shoot Sunday. Yikes!
We banged our heads together, came up with a few things, called a few people, re-recorded a Ramones classic and made this. Next thing you know, it’s running on the Jumbotron at Dodger Stadium. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
Will Working for Klout help our Klout score?
Nov 10, 2008
We’ve been posting about them and tweeting about them and generally gushing like smitten school girls for the past 6 months or so about Klout. And now we’re thrilled to be launching a new video for them.
The company, known as the standard for influence, measures your influence on social networks and everyone on Twitter and Facebook has a score.
The basic premise for the video is that you can’t tell a person’s Klout score just by looking at them. (And, actually, you can’t tell anything at all about a person by looking at them.) Which is kinda the point of Klout. People have power and are influential in ways you can’t see. And Klout taps into that power and influence across social networks.
Klout levels the playing field, so to speak. Because if you’re a movie star, of course you’re gonna be treated well at a hotel or restaurant. But if you’re influential on social networks and people follow you and listen to you, brands and companies should know that, as well.
The film was shot on location in North Beach. Thanks to Blake Bogosian, Doug Walker and Jon Ettinger at Beast Editorial for a great edit and transfer. And hats off to Ray Loewy at Tonefarmer for topping himself with a hot jazz score.
