DIVISION OF LABOR IS NOT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY

Division of Labor is one of the top advertising agencies in San Francisco. An independent advertising agency founded in 2010, we've been honored with Ad Age's Small Agency of the Year Award twice and we're based just over the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito. Our first office was located across the street from where this postcard picture was taken / drawing was done. (kinda hard to tell, isn’t it?) So working with us feels like a vacation. Kind of.

Why do we always say, Division of Labor is not a government agency? Partially because it’s not and partially because people are always calling us and telling us about how this company took advantage of them or that contractor didn’t pay them etc. The US Department of Labor and the California Department of Labor do sound quite similar. And while we do feel bad for those that have been treated poorly by employers, our brilliant advertising campaigns, digital marketing, social media promotions and videos won’t be able to help.

What other questions can we answer about Division of Labor for those rare few people who click on the words box?

Why is Division of Labor different from other advertising agencies?

Division of Labor specializes in startups and companies that behave like startups. Specifically, the majority of our clients are startups that have received Series B funding or higher. So they’re ready to commit a relative portion of their budget to grow brand awareness, drive website traffic and increase conversions by spending money on media that can reach a broad spectrum of potential customers.

Division of Labor is used to working with company founders and companies that expect results. We always create a measurement plan before we run any campaigns so we know how we will be judged and how you will be judged by those providing the financing.

Division of Labor is also unique in that the founders and heads of the company will be working on your business, guaranteed. We only take on a certain number of clients at a time to ensure the most senior thinking and leadership will be dedicated to your project. No BS on that. Ask any client we’ve ever worked with and they’ll tell you the founder of Division of Labor, Josh Denberg, was working on our business day to day.

Of course, if you don’t like Josh, then that’s a problem and you probably won’t like Division of Labor. But Faruk Sagcan and Rebecca Reid and Dawn Margolis and Brenda Goodman and a bunch of other people will also work on your business. So fear not.
